Lord Byron’s image didn’t match the painted image of the woman in the comp on the top left and had to be repainted to match the style and tones on the woman. Matching the cracking on the painting of the girl was the final touch to create a smooth transition so the the two portraits looked as if they had been painted by the same artist.
